COSIMA DE VITO

Camp Quality Convoy for

Kids

Sunday: Shellharbour Village Green

After a couple of years out of the limelight, former Australian Idol contestant Cosima De Vito is back with a new album.

De Vito will be in the Illawarra this Sunday to take part in the Camp Quality Convoy for Kids.

De Vito will ride in the convoy which will make its way from Appin Rd to the Shellharbour Village Green.

"It's in its third or fourth year now and last year they raised almost $600,000 for Camp Quality," says De Vito.

"At the final destination there will be food stalls and markets and entertainment - and I will be the entertainment.

"I think it's a wonderful cause and it's fun because the kids get to travel in the truck.

"I love that whole community spirit and Wollongong is beautiful. It reminds me a lot of Fremantle, because I'm originally from Perth."

De Vito says her new album, This is Now, is very different from her debut CD.

"The first album was predominantly ballads, sort of adult contemporary. The new album - I still do some ballads - but it is very pop-rock and I have written most of the tracks.

"I wasn't sure with this album how it would go, because it is very different. But the fans are absolutely loving it.

"It's a lot more youthful, and a lot more personal ... It's a very positive album. I will be performing the singles from the album on Sunday - Keep it Natural and Movin' On."
